Top-Rated Haunted Houses in Scottsdale and Phoenix for Halloween 2020
This month is all about spooktacular fun, so check out this list of the best haunted houses in the area:
- Field of Screams
- 13th Floor
- Fear Farm
- Mount Mayhem Haunted House
Here’s a closer look at each.
Field of Screams
Field of Screams is the most haunted corn maze in Phoenix. Tolmachoff Farms, which hosts the annual event, also has a pumpkin patch and a 6-acre family-friendly corn maze, as well as a mini-corn maze for very small children. There’s a petting zoo, train rides, an adult and child pedal cart track and more – but the really scary stuff starts when the sun goes down on Fridays, Saturdays and Halloween night.
Admission to the Field of Screams is $25 for any age, and you can get in between 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. Legend has it that the cornfield that holds Field of Screams used to be a cemetery – and those buried beneath it are looking for revenge on trespassers.
The 13th Floor is where all the mayhem happens – and if you dare, you can try to make it through unscathed. You don’t have to wait until Halloween, either; the 13th floor is open from 7 p.m. to 12 a.m. every weekend in October, and after October 21, it’s open from 7 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. on weekdays, too. It’s not generally recommended for kids 12 and under because the experiences are pretty authentic (you even have to sign a waiver to get in).
The Fear Farm haunted house and corn maze is definitely one Arizona’s spookiest experiences. With four total haunted areas, one after the other (you’ll experience The Plague, Fallout, Bunker and Haunted Corn Maze: The Reaping at Fear Farm), you have about an hour to make it through with your sanity intact. Think you can pull it off? Each experience is designed to push you to your mental limits, and the event is not appropriate for kids 12 and under.
Mount Mayhem Haunt
The Mount Mayhem Haunt may be small, but it’s definitely worth checking out. It’s at a private residence – scary in itself – and only five people are allowed in at a time, with no exceptions (even if you all came together). This year, the creatures are all new – and so are the scares.
