If you own a Tesla or are thinking of purchasing one at some point in the future, you’re in luck, especially if you live in Scottsdale. The city has two showrooms and a service center already, and now, a combination service center and showroom is in the works to open nearby, just off the Loop 101 in Tempe.
Recently approved by the city of Tempe, this new facility will be housed in a 40,000-square-foot former furniture and appliance store located at 2077 E. University Drive, about two miles east of Arizona State University. You’ll be able to see current models, schedule maintenance work, and charge your vehicle at the new service center.
Maintenance work will include electronic testing and software upgrades and possibly service for tires, suspension, and brakes, according to city records and AZ Central.
There’s no indication at this point when the new service center will open or how many jobs it will bring to the local economy.
For now, if you are interested in Tesla vehicles, you’ll have to head to the electric car manufacturer’s two Valley showrooms, one at Scottsdale Fashion Square Mall and Scottsdale Quarter Mall. Tesla operates these as an interactive experience where you can learn more about their vehicles before ordering one. You then pick up the delivered product locally, versus purchasing one off a lot.
The existing service is located in the Scottsdale Airpark area.
Tesla is a luxury electric car company, perhaps best known for its Roadster, the first fully electric sports car. It uses lithium-ion battery cells to power its vehicles.
About a dozen charging stations are scattered throughout the Valley from Buckeye to Chandler (with the new Tempe facility serving as yet another station). You can find current charging stations here.
For now, feel free to give us a call to learn more about the luxury car market in the Valley of the Sun- we’ve seen it all during our time in Scottsdale!
