Sweet Republic in Scottsdale made Thrillist’s list of Best Ice Cream Shops in the nation. It graces the list with some of the nation’s oldest parlors such as Dairy Joy, opened in 1927, and some of the nations most bizarre, such as Amy’s Ice Cream.
Sweet Republic is well known in the Valley (yes, even out in Ancala) for its incredibly unique flavors made from organic Arizona dairy. The menu is constantly evolving and adding new flavors, but maintains some crowd favorites such as salted caramel, butter pecan, Belgium chocolate, and a few others that are store staples.
Everything is made in house, ranging from their cones, toppings and ice cream, by the hard working staff. Along with being homemade, none of the products contain artificial flavoring. Now that’s hard to beat!
In addition to being on Thrillist’s list, Food Network Magazine compiled a list of their top ice cream shops from each state last year and they also chose Sweet Republic! Their favorite item off the menu was the delicious Toffee Banofi Sundae.
Food Network’s foodies were delighted with the waffle bowl stuffed with bananas and Madagascar vanilla ice cream and topped with toffee and caramel.
