May 2018 Events in Scottsdale
Some of the can’t-miss April events in Scottsdale are continuing through May, but there’s even more on the city’s schedule for next month.
Carnival of Illusion: An Evening of Old-World Magic
Carnival of Illusion: An Evening of Old-World Magic runs weekly through May 25. This unique show is vaudeville-inspired and features over an hour-and-a-half of pure fun. It all takes place in a cozy setting so everyone can enjoy the show, but it’s designed for guests aged 8 and older.
The Art of Ice Cream Experience
The Art of Ice Cream Experience is going strong through May. This ticket-required, ice-cream-themed pop art exhibit puts guests through eight rooms of delectable frozen treats where there are plenty of photo-ops for selfies.
Native American Dancing
Each Friday through May 25, from 5 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., catch an authentic Native American dance performance that shares tribal tradition and celebrates historic culture. The performance includes hoop dancing, which is known as the dance of life. You can see these performances at the Fountain Court at the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort and Spa.
The Western Edge exhibition, located at Western Spirit: Scottsdale’s Museum of the West, features a spectacular selection of emerging artists from the region.
Music in the Garden
Recurring weekly until June 22, Music in the Garden at Desert Botanical Garden will feature:
- May 4: Cinco de Moio (Jazz)
- May 11: A Touch of Class (R&B)
- May 18: Dmitri Matheny Group featuring Holly Pyle (Jazz, Contemporary)
- May 25: Sahnas Brothers Band (Spanish and Mediterranean-inspired fusion)
Davis Circus of Illusion
Featuring master illusionist Craig Davis and dancer Myryka, the Davis Circus of Illusion is a spectacular show that runs daily through May and beyond. It’s held at the theater at Cattle Track, and it’s a must-see.
