The Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show gets underway this Thursday and it so much more than a horse show.  It’s a ten day show with a million dollar purse, and a meet-and-greet with The Million Dollar Mare!

You don’t even have to be a horse lover to delight in what the Arabian horse world brings to North Scottsdale.  There are over 300 booths to peruse and shop, gala parties and seminars to attend, and an international food court to satiate your wildest food craving!

Admittedly, the real attraction that brings hundreds of thousands of spectators to WestWorld is the magnificent Arabian horse.  The most powerful and elegant Arabian horses from Europe, the Middle East, South Africa, Australia, South America, Mexico, Canada and the US will grace Arizona with their spectacular competition.

Not only do the horses come from all around the world but the first-class panels of judges do as well.  Here is a breathtaking glimpse of what’s in store for you when you go.

The schedule of events is an extensive one and there’s something for just about everyone!  You have limited time and aren’t sure where to spend it?  We recommend two classes of show:

1. The first, of course, is the Arabian Native Costume Horse and Rider Class that boasts hand-crafted costumes, saddles and halters some which are made by real Bedouin artisans.

2. Our second choice is watching the Straight Egyptian Arabians that drew records crowds to the standing-room only arena last year. Until recently there was only one place in America for the              international community to show this breed: Well, Scottsdale is privileged to be chosen as the second place in the country to show this pedigree that shares an unbroken bloodline back to the            horses of the Bedouin tribes of the Arabian Desert.

The sheer beauty and athleticism of this breed will make the 62nd Annual Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show the largest event of its kind anywhere in the world.  The horse show takes place February 16th through 26th with gates opening daily at 8:00 a.m.  General admission is only $10, reserved seating is $15-$25 and box seating tickets start at $250.  It’s highly recommended to purchase tickets online, especially for Saturday when seats sell out early.

And nothing draws a crowd like the rare opportunity to see The Million Dollar Mare up close and personal on both Friday, February 20 and Saturday, February 21 from 1:00-5:00 p.m.
