Scottsdale proudly boasts being one of the most livable cities in the country!  In last year’s annual ranking of the top 100 best places to live in America, we placed at number 40!  While that is quite an accolade, it’s just not quite good enough.

So the City of Scottsdale wants to hear from their residents on how they are doing.  A random sample of 1,500 online surveys were sent out earlier this month and the results will be compared to hundreds of other cities across the nation.  If you weren’t included in the sample, you are being encouraged to fill out the survey here.  It will take approximately 15 minutes of your time and you are guaranteed anonymity.  The city will use the results to determine where and how to improve on city services and amenities.

But while we work our way up to the top of the chart, we currently have bragging rights for what we do really well here in Scottsdale.

An Outdoor Lifestyle

Adjacent to Scottsdale’s western border is the City of Phoenix that is ranked the #1 sunniest major US city.  So Scottsdale can lay claim to one of the best outdoor lifestyles in the country with unlimited sunshine for golf, tennis, hiking, horseback riding and a myriad of outdoor sports and activities.

Low Unemployment, Continual Job Growth and High Consumer Buying Power

Scottsdale’s unemployment typically remains under that of the rest of the nation.  As of December 2016, the unemployment rate in Scottsdale, Arizona, is 4.40%, with job growth of 3.17%.

For every adult and child living in Scottsdale the income per capita is $51,564 with a median household income of $72,455.  Those figures trend to strong consumer buying power.

A continuous low unemployment rate, solid job market and high consumer buying power has attracted world class malls and shops to Scottsdale.  Fashion Square Mall, Kierland Commons, Scottsdale Quarter and the Market Street at DC Ranch offer exclusive designer labels, an eclectic mix of retail boutiques and specialty stores where shoppers can score one-of-a-kind items.

Fine Art & Galleries

Scottsdale is known for its city art scene, fine art galleries and commitment to the arts.  Its recent addition of the 11 million dollar, Western Spirit:  Scottsdale Museum of the West, won international acclaim this year and now ranks in the top six museums in the West.

World Class Hotels and Resorts

With names like Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale , JW Marriott’s Camelback Inn, Omni  Resort & Spa at Montelucia, Hotel Valley Ho, Talking Stick Resort, W Scottsdale, The Phoenician and the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess , you don’t have to leave the country to enjoy some of the most luxurious and posh digs in the world.

In fact, many from outside the country make Scottsdale their wedding or spa destination trip!

Amenities Galore

The city is also known for its trendsetting fashion, some of the best plastic surgeons in world, best private clubs, restaurants and nightclubs in addition to 200+ area golf courses.

While Scottsdale boasts a lavish lifestyle, it is also a great place to raise a family with incredible parks, schools and residents with a commitment to community.
