There may not be snow on the ground or a chill in the air, but that’s exactly the reason thousands flock to the sunny Scottsdale to live. But what is winter without the time-honored tradition of ice skating? Well, you don’t have to arrange a family holiday to Kennedy Square for some real live outdoor ice skating fun – it’s minutes away in Phoenix at the only real outdoor ice rink, City Skate at CityScape Phoenix.
Friday and Saturday nights offer up a special treat of hot chocolate and apple cider with Copper Blues, music, games and even an adult skate.
Skating sessions are daily from 11:00 am – 1:30 pm and then again, 4:00 pm – 11:00 pm and extended until midnight on Saturdays. Tickets range from $6.00 to $12.00 and can be purchased online or in person.
After you leave the rink, don’t forget to show the CityScape merchants your wristband for some great shopping and dining specials.
One can imagine the difficulty in keeping a real outdoor ice rink frozen in the Southwest, so you will not want to miss this very narrow window of opportunity to head out for a fun afternoon or evening on the ice. The fun is over February 2nd when it’s time to get back to the pool and warmer weather attire.
