Nearly 30% of Americans make New Year’s resolutions that include a focus on weight loss and/or getting fit. If a new exercise routine is part of your plan for 2015, here are some great places to get in shape in the Scottsdale area.
Orange Theory Fitness – At Orange Theory Fitness, you wear a heart monitor along with 22 other people in the room, and at any point you can look at a monitor to make sure you are in the correct zone for the results you are aiming for. You can also see everyone else’s heart rate and they can see yours – if that’s not motivation enough, I don’t know what is! This is one-of-a-kind personal group training. There are 3 locations in Scottsdale.
Amenzone – For a back-to-basics workout without the glitter or hype, hit one of the three Amenzone Scottsdale locations for a gym with no weights, no machines, no mirrors, just a bunch of clean recycled tires. You will be amazed at what you can do with your own body weight, expert trainers and a tire (but wait ‘til you see the selection of tires).
CrossFit North Scottsdale – The latest fitness craze is CrossFit, and there seems to be CrossFit gyms popping up in just about every major shopping center. CrossFit consists of cardio and weight-bearing exercises that train you to move your body faster, generate more power and build strength.
Modify Yoga Studio – For those looking for a fitness program without the machismo of a gym, why not try yoga? Yoga exercises the entire body and has amazing effects that for some reason seem mystical. Jumpstart the new year with a 31 day yoga challenge at Modify.
YouFit – If you’re on a tight budget and want a gym with the machines and no amenities, check out YouFit. YouFit has 2 Scottsdale locations and the cost is only $10/month.
If “free” is the right price, and you have a pair of running shoes, take advantage of the beautiful Scottsdale weather and hit the pavement – you can walk or jog the neighborhood. And, many Scottsdale subdivisions have their own community centers with fitness facilities. If you are already paying for one of these through your monthly HOA dues, why not use it?
We all know there’s no magic wand or diet pill, you just have to do it. With so many workout options in the Scottsdale area, you are sure to find an exercise facility that works best for you.
