The Tour de Scottsdale, which starts and finishes at Market Street in DC Ranch, is being held this year on Sunday, October 12th.
This year’s event marks the 11th year of the Tour de Scottsdale. It’s Arizona’s premier cycling event and it raises funds for the McDowell Sonoran Conservancy who uses the proceeds to maintain and grow the McDowell Sonoran Preserve.
For avid cyclists, there are two routes: a 30 mile loop and a 70 mile loop. The 30 mile route travels north from DC Ranch, up Scottsdale Road to Cave Creek Road, then across to Pima Road, and south back to DC Ranch. The starting time of the 30 mile route is 6:50 am.
The most adventuresome and fit cyclists can participate in the 70 mile ride that kicks-off at 6:30 am. The route takes riders north of DC Ranch to Cave Creek, and then loops around the entire McDowell Sonoran Preserve (see route map above.)
Cyclists can pick up their race packets on Saturday, October 11th at The Homestead Community Center (18600 N. 98th St., Scottsdale, AZ 85255) between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm or on Sunday, October 12 on Market Street starting at 5:00 am.
All entrants receive:
- chip timing
- post-ride food and entertainment
- commemorative shirts
- medals for all finishers
- refreshments at aid stations
- medical support
- police support and traffic control (note: not available throughout 30 mile ride)
- mobile bike support
If you haven’t signed up for the race already, there is still time to register. All bike types are allowed except those with Aero-bars.
