Whisper Rock

Whisper Rock in North Scottsdale combines rustic simplicity and luxury in traditional Southwestern architecture, natural desert landscapes, strands of saguaros, granite boulder formations – and oh yes, golf! This is what you will experience at the North Scottsdale community of Whisper Rock. Amenities of the community include a 3-acre desert park that includes a 2,500 square foot fitness facility (with strength and cardio equipment, exercise studio, locker rooms, massage rooms, and a catering kitchen for functions), a lap pool, spa, outdoor living room, a half-court basketball court, 2 sunken tennis courts, and recreational sized turf area.

Whisper Rock Estates comprises 800 guard-gated acres with 200 home sites nestled in the unspoiled Sonoran Desert landscape. Home sites range from one to five acres, with the average size being approximately 2 acres. The community consists mainly of custom homes in addition to 17 villas.

 

Whisper Rock’s golf is a coveted 36 holes and has a membership list filled with names from the PGA Tour. The Lower Course was designed by Phil Mickelson and Gary Stephenson and opened in 2001. The Upper Course was designed by Tom Fazio and opened in 2005. Both courses were designed so that holes are grouped together, separated by ribbons of natural desert terrain. There are many holes where no homes are visible during play. Membership in the Whisper Rock Golf Club is by sponsorship and invitation only. Property ownership in Whisper Rock Estates is not required for membership and owning property in Whisper Rock Estates does not create any rights to membership. Whisper Rock Golf Club does not have any social members, and the clubhouse is set up to provide necessities to the golfers only – this is a pure golf environment – no fancy restaurants or other sports facilities here.

 

Whisper Rock is located in the Cave Creek Unified School District. Students attend Lone Mountain Elementary, Sonoran Trails Middle School, and Cactus Shadows High School.
