The Boulders Club is a semi-private country club for members and resort guests. It offers 2 championship courses designed by Jay Morrish. The North Course is a 6,811-yard, par 72 tract and the South Course is a 6,726-yard, par 71 tract. The courses are known for their rugged beauty, yet provide challenges to meet the skill level of both beginning and advanced golfers. There are excellent practice facilities and a fully-appointed pro shop. The Club Restaurant is available for use by members and their guests. Family golf memberships and social memberships are available. Both types of memberships include the use of the Spa. The Waldorf Astoria Spa is a 33,000-square-foot retreat enhanced by waterfalls, babbling brooks, gardens, and native plants. The Spa has a Pilates studio, tea room, salon, steam room, sauna, and Japanese bath as well as a swimming pool. The Tennis Garden offers eight different courts, weekly clinics, personal instruction, and tennis socials as well as a pro shop. There is also a fitness center with excellent cardio equipment, guided outdoor activities, a lap pool, and a whirlpool.

The Boulders is in the Cave Creek Unified School District. Children in this community attend Black Mountain Elementary, Sonoran Trails Middle School, and Cactus Shadows High School.
