McCormick- Stillman Railroad Park is an ideal destination in Scottsdale for families looking for some outdoor fun. Located in McCormick Ranch, the park offers train rides, an antique carousel, and multiple playgrounds for children to enjoy. It also has an interesting history.

The land on which the popular park resides was a small section of a larger tract of land purchased by Anne and Fowler McCormick in 1943. The McCormick’s operated a cattle ranch and Arabian horse farm on the land.

Thanks to the philanthropy of the McCormick’s, 30 acres were donated to the state of Arizona in the late 1960’s, and are now the McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park.

The railroad park highlights the history of some of the most celebrated locomotive cars built in the early 1900’s in Arizona and America.

The park features the Paradise and Pacific Train rides, which run every half hour during the weekdays and continuously on the weekends.

Tickets cost $1.00 each but children under 3 ride free with a paying adult. Each ride takes two tickets per ride. The train and carousel ticket books cost $10 for 12 tickets. Ticket books are non-refundable, but never expire.

The park is open every day of the year (weather permitting) except Thanksgiving and Christmas.

You can also become a member of the McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park for $75 + $25 for each additional family member. The membership includes a one-year pass for rides on the train and carousel, entrance to the Scottsdale Railroad Museum (open seasonally), as well as invitations to member events.
