TripAdvisor recently named the Musical Instrument Museum the #1 attraction in the Phoenix area out of 129 attractions. The Musical Instrument Museum holds over 15,000 instruments from 200 countries and territories throughout the world. Of the 1,283 reviews posted on the TripAdvisor site, every single one is either “Excellent” or “Very Good” (the equivalent of 4 or 5 stars).
If you would like to live in an area that has access to the world’s only Global Musical Instrument Museum, contact the Matheson Team, your Scottsdale Real Estate Experts today. A member of our team will help you find the perfect home in the desert.
After you pass through the museum’s Orientation Gallery on the first floor (which showcases the movement of instruments around the world), guests can venture into: 1) Geographical Galleries - exhibits are broken into territories, namely Africa and the Middle East, Asia and Oceania, Europe, Latin America and the U.S./Canada 2) Mechanical Music Galleries - showcases a range of instruments that play themselves. 3) Artist Galleries - highlight iconic singers and musicians including John Lennon and Taylor Swift.
Some of the best memories you can make at the MIM, however, involve the museum’s Experience Galleries. Long gone are those annoying “do not touch” signs – the museum encourages you to “bang a gong, strum a Burmese harp, and play unique instruments from all corners of the world”.
