There are many events scheduled across the Valley to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, and we’ve highlighted a few fun ones. So, put on your green beret, and get out and enjoy some green beer and the luck of the Irish.
For the family
The 32nd annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Faire is sure to bring out the leprechaun with his pot of gold as marching bands, step dancers, bagpipes and floats take to the streets for this annual celebration of the green. The accompanying faire will feature three stages of Irish music and dance with fairies galore.
Is there a greater way to kick off a St. Patrick’s Day celebration than by enjoying some real Irish culture at the Irish Cultural Center in downtown Phoenix? Traditional Irish food, folk dancing and live music with De Mairt Ceol and with the luck of the Irish you just might win a trip to Ireland!
For the music lover
The Musical Instrument Museum has planned two great days of Irish themed activities complete with photo booth, Irish story-telling, live performances of Celtic harps and Irish dance.
Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts has invited authentic Irish lads and lassies to the stage for the last five decades and this year is no exception. The Grammy-winning Chieftains flown in from Ireland will entertain the audience with Irish folk-lore and music.
The Pot of Gold Music Festival at Tempe Beach Park is a four-day festival of food, music, and dance, a not-to-be beat Gaelic affair.
For the athlete
Strut your stuff at the 1K, 4K, 8K and 17K race at the Kiss Me I’m Irish Run. They’ve pretty much got everyone covered except you marathoners. Your prize for crossing the finish line? A Hershey Kiss, complimentary beer, let’s hope it’s green, and food and swag for all finishers.
