Spend Your Day at the Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show

Spend Your Day at the Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show

  • 02/12/16
Don’t miss the Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show, held February 11-21 at WestWorld. Now in its 61st year, the show draws top owners, trainers, and breeders from around the globe and features more than 2,400 Arabian and half-Arabian horses competing in dressage competitions, halter classes, native costume shows, and more.

But, there’s more to the Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show than what goes on in the arena. You can take a behind-the-scenes barn tour or get your photo taken with a Wells Fargo stagecoach. Ice cream socials, a dog costume contest, and a dog race are all scheduled, as well as the chance to paint a ceramic horse!

There are also clinics on training and purchasing Arabian horses, dressage demonstrations, and plenty of opportunities to interact with Arabian horses. Horse lovers of all ages will enjoy spending a day at the show, whether they watch any of the events or not. Click here for a complete schedule.

Sponsored by the Arabian Horse Association of Arizona, the show also has an extensive shopping expo where you’ll find everything from English and Western saddles and bridles to cowboy hats, leather boots, and event t-shirts.

Set aside some time to browse the entries for the children’s art contest and the amateur photography contest, both of which are surprisingly good.

General admission is $10 per day for adults and $7 for seniors and military. Children 12 and under are free. You can purchase reserved bleacher seats for $15 per day and reserved box seats for $25 per day. Tickets are available through TicketMaster or at the WestWorld box office.

Evening performances on Friday, February 19 are free. However, you’ll have to pay for the evening performances on Saturday, February 20. Tickets for that night are $15 for general admission and $10 for seniors and military. Children under 12 are still free. You can also purchase reserved bleacher seats for $25 and reserved box seats for $35 for the evening. Performances on both nights begin at 6 pm.

Perhaps best of all, if you're a DC Ranch, Windgate Ranch, or McDowell Mountain Ranch resident, this exciting event is right around the bend on Thompson Peak Pkwy!

Feel free to reach out to me for questions about this fantastic event or any of the others coming to the Valley this spring. Scottsdale is truly the place to be.
