If you’re like many people eyeing great places to retire, Scottsdale is probably on your radar – and we’ll be the first to tell you that it’s a great idea. Scottsdale is home to all the amenities you need… and then some. This city has everything retirees could want, including some fabulous 55+ communities designed for active adults.

Why Retire in Scottsdale?

In addition to our fabulous temperatures (say goodbye to winter for good!), Scottsdale is a wonderful place to retire. We’re close to all the major cities:

  • 13 miles from Phoenix
  • 6 miles from Tempe
  • 12 miles from Mesa
  • 18 miles from Gilbert
  • 18 miles from Chandler
  • 17 miles from Glendale

We’re not even far from Tucson; it’s 114 miles away via I-10, which you can typically travel in under two hours. (That short distance comes in handy when you’re traveling for golf tournaments or heading up Mount Lemmon to get a break from the summer heat.) And we’re only 153 miles from Flagstaff via I-17, 236 miles from the Grand Canyon (also on I-17, which you take through Flagstaff and over Route 66), and 364 miles from San Diego on I-8 if you’re looking for a great home-base for weekend seaside getaways.
