September 2018 Events in Scottsdale
The Scottsdale Chamber of Commerce and several other organizations pull together to create great community events every month. Here’s what’s on tap for September 2018.
September 15: Champions for Charity
Featuring cocktails and dinner, as well as a silent auction and a show of the most prestigious Arabian horses, Champions for Charity’s event benefits the non-profit Send Me On Vacation. The non-profit helps people with breast cancer.
September 22: Brazilian Day Festival
The Brazilian Day Festival is a spectacular event at the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts. This event, open to guests of all ages, will let you experience Brazilian culture through live music, capoeira and several performances.
September 23: Firebird Music Festival Jazz Night
Firebird Music Festival Jazz Night, hosted by Grammy Award-winner Randy Jackson, features performances by Jeffrey Osborne, Earl Klugh, Bob James, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Rick Braun and Jazz Funk Soul.
September 25: Pathfinder Gathering – AZ Women
Speaker Zona Lorig celebrates the stories of Arizona’s most notable women at the Mustang Library Auditorium and discusses the importance of women contributing to their societies.
September 28: James Beard Foundation Taste America
Taste America dinner benefits the James Beard Foundation and kicks off with a reception followed by dinner by Host Chef Charles Wiley and Charleen Badman.
September 29: Lights On After School
Scheduled for 5 p.m. at the Scottsdale Museum of the West, Lights On After School is a family-friendly event that includes dining, interactive booths and plenty of entertainment. See displays by local artisans and spend a few hours appreciating the sense of community this inspiring evening brings.
September 30: 18th Annual Behind-the-Flames Scottsdale Firefighter Charities Dinner
The 18th Annual Behind-the-Flames Scottsdale Firefighter Charities Dinner, held at Dominick’s Steakhouse in Scottsdale, honors local firefighters and benefits a number of firefighter charities. Cocktail hour starts at 5 p.m. and dinner, immediately following cocktail hour, features steaks, seafood and several fantastic dishes.
