Natural Grocers, a popular Colorado chain specializing in organic natural foods, as well as vitamins and supplements, is coming to Scottsdale.
The first Natural Grocers location in the Valley will be located at Scottsdale and Thunderbird roads in the Scottsdale Towne Square shopping center. It is scheduled to open by the end of the year. The chain currently has 95 locations, including Sedona, Tucson, Prescott, and Flagstaff.
What makes Natural Grocers so unique? First, they only sell high-quality organic produce. Second, there’s a long list of things they won’t sell, like products with artificial colors, artificial flavors, and artificial sweeteners. Last but not least, you also won’t find hydrogenated and partially hydrogenated oils, bleached flours, irradiated foods or products containing MSG (monosodium glutamate - or added sodium) on their shelves.
Dairy products also have to meet especially strict standards. Natural Grocers doesn’t offer products that come from confinement dairies or from cows given the bovine growth hormone rBGH. Instead, the animals must have grazed on pasture for a minimum of 120 days during the grazing season.
In addition to natural foods, the store will also stock vitamins and dietary supplements, household items, body care products, and pet care supplies.
At the new store, you’ll also find a full book section with more than 300 titles on topics including nutrition, wellness, green living, and cooking.
And, like other stores, the Scottsdale location will have its own nutritional health coach to provide in-store presentations and offer nutrition and supplement guidance. You’ll also be able to schedule one-on-one health coaching sessions to help reach your health and fitness goals.
Natural Grocers joins the Sprouts Farmers Market chain in Arizona as the latest grocery store in the Valley centered on healthy eating and living, an increasingly important draw for consumers in our state.
