Scottsdale ArtWalk Celebrates Its 40th Anniversary | October 23

  • 10/21/14
Scottsdale is synonymous with fine art, and you won’t want to miss the “kickoff to the cultural high season” this Thursday with special festivities commemorating the 40th Anniversary of the Scottsdale ArtWalk. The Scottsdale ArtWalk is the longest running art walk in the nation.

Every Thursday night from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm between October and April, you can experience the ArtWalk and view some of the best art the Southwest has to offer while meandering through the galleries along Marshall Way, Main Street and throughout Old Town Scottsdale. It’s a great opportunity to talk with a number of artists while enjoying a glass of wine paired with a traditional or contemporary sculpture or painting.

This week is a very special ArtWalk with a dedication ceremony kicking off the gala affair at 6:00 pm on Main Street.

If “meandering” is too slow a gait for your viewing pleasure, jump on the Scottsdale Trolley for free transportation all along the route, with stops and starts scheduled every 15 minutes. Or hire a horse-drawn carriage or golf cart to get to a specific destination or restaurant outside of the route.

You don’t need a map, just look down and follow the artwalk decals on the sidewalk to enjoy the galleries, art demos, live music, restaurants, food trucks and more.

The weather is perfect, the anticipation is high, so be sure to bring the family out for this special evening – tomorrow – Thursday, October 23, 2014.

  • 6:00 pm – Dedication and Festivities on Main Street,
  • 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm – 40th Anniversary free ArtWalk.
