Scottsdale was recently ranked the sixth safest city, out of the 100 largest cities in the U.S.  This is great news if you are looking to make a move here, or already live here. Scottsdale's 6th place ranking appeared in a report compiled by Movoto.com.  The 100 largest cities were determined from the 2012 Census.  Crime statistics from the 2012 FBI Uniform Crime Report were used and crime rates were calculated based on population numbers for each city. “Scottsdale traditionally ranks high in studies that rate public safety and quality of life,” the City of Scottsdale said after the report was released. Arizona cities Chandler and Gilbert also made the list. Gilbert was named the 3rd safest city and Chandler was named the 10th safest city. Take a look at the table below to see the crime rates that were chosen for the study.
