This Thursday celebrates the kickoff of the Gold Palette ArtWalks for the 2016-2017 season! 30+ artists will demonstrate their talents inside select galleries in the arts district of Old Town Scottsdale, which ironically coincides with this years ArtWalk name, DEMONSTRATE!
No two Artwalks are ever the same with special exhibits and featured artists changing weekly. This week is special and there will be street performers, free wine tastings, free samples and extended shopping hours in some of the retail shops along the streets.
The Artwalk is a 40 year tradition in Scottsdale and they take place every Thursday (except Thanksgiving) from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. and are always free to the public. You don’t need a map, just show up anywhere between Main Street and Scottsdale Road or arrive on Marshall Way north of Indian School Road and follow the blue footprints painted on the sidewalk that will show you the way.
Wear walking shoes and plan to log some mileage but if you need a break there is the free trolley and for a fee, golf carts, taxis and horse drawn carriages to move you around if you prefer not to walk.
