The historic Noriega Livery Stable, located on the corner of Brown Ave and Second Street in Old Town Scottsdale, is now going to be utilized for cooking and gardening classes, artists in residence, as well as stables.

The Livery Stable is a 1,400 square foot studio that mostly sits vacant with the exception of a portion of the space used by Scottsdale Horse and Carriage, for washing horses and storing carriages.
The Scottsdale Public Art, Arizona Community Farmers Markets and Up with Downtown Scottsdale are working to revitalize the space and make it a must-see destination in Old Town Scottsdale.
They are planning on keeping all updates in alignment with the image of "the West's most Western Town," including a temporary mural that will decorate the front of the building until approximately October, 2015. They are choosing a Valley painter for this project sometime next month.
The local artists in residence for the studio space will be chosen through the Scottsdale Public Art's Creative Residency program, which encourages writers, filmmakers, performers and other artists to engage with the public.
The classes and events that will be available for the public thanks to Arizona Community Farmers Markets will cover a wide variety of topics including cooking, gardening, locally grown food, and nutrition.
The Livery Stable is also going to be used by Up with Downtown Scottsdale, an organization that formed last year, to bring together downtown's various districts with the goal to promote all of downtown Scottsdale as a destination.
The Livery Stable will also continue to be used by Scottsdale Horse and Carriage.
