Next Season at the Scottsdale Center for Performing Arts

Believe or not, the 2016-2017 season at the Scottsdale Center for Performing Arts is winding down, and tickets for next year’s season are already on sale. This fantastic facility is only a few minutes away from several Scottsdale communities, and these are a few of the highlights to watch for in the upcoming season:
 
Journey to Broadway: Three amazing Broadway talents—Kate Reinders, Telly Leung, and Mandy Gonzalez—take you on "the yellow brick road to Broadway" as they share stories from the business and perform songs from some the hit shows they’ve starred in, including “Gypsy” and “Wicked.” Saturday, October 29, 2016, at 8 p.m. Tickets range in price from $39 to $69.
 
An Evening with Garrison Keillor: America’s greatest storyteller and humorist comes to Scottsdale to share the wit that made “A Prairie Home Companion” one of the most popular live weekly radio variety shows of all time. Thursday, November 17, 2016, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets range in price from $59 to $89.
 
A Merri-Achi Christmas: Mariachi Sol de Mexico, the first mariachi ensemble to be nominated for a Grammy Award, performs holiday favorites as well as a mix of classical, pop, jazz, swing, and Broadway tunes. Saturday, December 17, 2016, at 8 p.m. Tickets range in price from $29 to $59 for adults. Children 12 and under are $19.
 
SF Jazz Collective: This world-renowned jazz ensemble features eight artists from Puerto Rico, New York, Venezuela, Philadelphia, New Zealand, and Israel playing the music of legendary jazz innovator Miles Davis along with selected original pieces by collective members. Friday, January 13, 2017 at 8 p.m. Tickets range in price from $39 to $69.
 
yMusic: Six New York City instrumentalists—a string trio, flute, clarinet, and trumpet—combine pop and classical sounds, earning them the reputation for being “one of the groups that has really helped to shape the future of classical music,” according to NPR’s Fred Child. Friday, February 3, 2017, at 8 p.m. Tickets range in price from $29 to $49.
 
Rosanne Cash: The daughter of Johnny Cash and his first wife, Vivian Liberto Cash Distin, Rosanne Cash is a renowned singer in her own right. The Grammy Award-winning artist will perform songs from her 15 albums, including several of her No. 1 hit singles. Saturday, March 4, 2017, at 8 p.m. Tickets range in price from $49 to $79.
 
Jacques Pepin: Before there were Iron Chefs and Gordon Ramsay, there was Jacques Pepin. The host of 12 cooking shows and author of more than 25 cookbooks will share the stage with his daughter, Claudine, as they prepare some of his most famous dishes live onstage. The evening will include a Q & A session moderated by a top Valley chef. Saturday, March 25, 2017, at 8 p.m. Tickets range in price from $29 to $59.
