Looking for a way to escape the summer heat and pick up a few ideas for improving your home, inside and out? Head to the Maricopa County Home Show on July 15, 16, and 17 at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale.
Hundreds of exhibitors will be on hand to display the latest and greatest products for your home and garden as well as provide guidance with design and landscaping issues. In addition to exhibits, the Friday, Saturday, and Sunday event will feature seminars, demonstrations, contests, “ask the expert” sessions, and workshops for kids.
Scheduled activities include:
Crafting in the Garden: Complete make-and-take and upcycling projects at this crafting space. (All materials and instructions provided.) Options include teacup garden, hummingbird feeder, terra cotta drink coasters, and string art.
Art Walk: View more than 1,400 pieces of art. Then, place your bid for a chance to win one of 150 award-winning photographs featured in National Geographic in a silent auction. Bids start at $20.
Free Landscape Consultation: Bring your backyard measurements and pictures for a complimentary walk-up consultation with a professional horticulturist (booth #2439).
Free State Park Pass: Receive a free, 1-day state park pass by attending a seminar by the Arizona State Park. (Limit one per family.) Or, visit their booth (#9) for a pass.
Free Wine Tasting: Sample fine European wines at tasting experiences throughout the show.
Tuscan Cuisine & Tastings: Sample the unique flavors of fennel, truffle, Calabrian pepper-infused olive oil, and balsamic vinegar with Chef Glenn from Sogno Toscano.
High Energy Pet Tricks & Show: Watch as Dog Training Elite’s canines perform tricks ranging from basic obedience to spectacular tricks.
The AZ Queen Bee: Taste honey, make your own beeswax candles, see a live bee hive, and more.
University of Arizona Master Gardeners: Learn how to prepare your trees for the monsoon season, care for your roses during summer, and get started on your fall garden.

Doors for event open daily at 10 a.m. and close at 6 p.m. on the first two days and 5 p.m. on the last final day.
Admission is $8 for everyone 13 and over; $3 for those ages 3-12; and free for children 2 and under. But, there are several ways to score discounted tickets. Members of the military receive half off with valid military identification. Seniors and anyone celebrating a July birthday also receive discounts. Plus, admission is only $2.50 for everyone on Friday between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.

(ATMs are onsite in case you come unprepared.) No pets are permitted. There are no wheelchair or stroller rentals available.
