The Discover Rioja Weekend in Scottsdale may well be the haute cuisine event of the fall season! Executive Wine Editor, Ray Isle of FOOD & WINE Magazine will host most of the weekend events and the grand finale will include a 5-course dinner and wine pairing prepared by Celebrity Chef Katie Button, of the legendary El Bulli, Ferran Adria's famous gastro palace in Spain and, owner of two unique restaurant concepts, Cúrate Tapas Bar and Nightbell in Asheville, North Carolina. Katie Button completed a Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering degree but decided to step into the culinary arts and has risen to international stardom in a very short time with a long list of accomplishments and awards.
You’ve hit the Scottsdale beer crawl scene, but what is a tapas crawl with artisan pop-up shops? You’ll be indulged in a self-guided tour of the resort, stopping at stations throughout the property that will feature a tapas from Prada and a Spanish wine pairing to fit the flavor of the selected local artisan. Rumor has it that Cosanti and their original bronze handcrafted Soleri bells, Palm and Pantry with Arizona’s locally grown dates, Drewbee’s native Arizona honey, and quilting artist, Rita Chester along with watercolor artist, Kadie Schaefer will be located throughout the property.
