Did you know Phoenix has a children’s museum? Well they do, and it is an fantastic family destination for children of all ages. You’ve heard it before, "all ages", but it often leaves out infants and toddlers. Well, The Children’s Museum of Phoenix has everybody covered, and you may even catch dad trying his hand in the What Will You Build? arena.
A separate gallery has been designed especially for babies, toddlers and preschoolers and targets their developmental needs. Whether it is crawling, exploring visually, or engaging the senses, it’s all safe and clean in a space that enforces a “shoes off” policy for everyone.
Over in the Big Kid Zone there is a space for three year olds and a separate space for four year olds to enjoy, engage, learn and play with exhibits of puzzles and toys. Mom and dad are invited to leave their youth in the Big Kid Zone and head back to their toddlers. But if you would rather have the infants, toddlers and older kids all together in one space there are exhibits and spaces for that as well.
There is so much more to experience - exhibits, an art studio, a book loft, block mania, café, pit stop and more -- under one roof! Oops, we almost forgot to mention the indoor Grand Ballroom where kids of all sizes enjoy balls of all sizes!
There’s even an outdoors Move It! exhibit for kids to do what they do best, play! These exhibits were designed for children to learn through movement, and invites active exploration through the use of fine and gross motor skills in a thought-provoking manner. Shhhh, don’t spill the beans, the kids think they are there to play!
The Children’s Museum is at 215 N. 7th Street in downtown Phoenix. If you have questions before you go, contact them directly at (602) 253-0501.
