The need for speed. What comes to your mind with that statement? No, it’s not the next Tom Cruise film, just some fast track time at the Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Driving in Chandler, Arizona.
Most notably known for putting you behind the wheel to experience speed, their signature offering is introducing you to Grand Prix road racing in a Formula Mazda. This 4 day intensive doesn’t come cheap with the price tag of $4,399, but hey, we never said life was cheap.
Experiencing sticker shock? The real zinger that everyone hopes to find in their Christmas stocking or as a corporate bonus is a full day program of stock car racing. The Bondurant/Chris Cook Performance Motorsports Stock Cars package comes with one-on-one coaching, and lead/follow sessions that culminate in open track racing. Price tag? $9000! But come on, this is a once in a life time opportunity to be behind the wheel of a 650 horse power mean machine!
OK, let’s get real, if you don’t want to break the bank, or maybe you are pulling your pennies together to get dad an early Father’s Day gift, why not surprise him with an exhilarating 3 hour program of Formula racing? The school only offers this twice a year, so if you miss it in early April of this spring, he’ll have to wait until next fall.
There’s a price range for most of us, with some fun beginner karting sessions for the kid in all of us for $249 or a 3-day kart clinic for advanced racers starting around $2,600.
But driving fast isn’t totally what it’s all about at the school, they teach a skill-set for teen drivers just starting out, an extensive course for executive protection for chauffeurs and staff, anti-kidnapping for mothers or just basic kart racing for the kiddos. Or you can talk to the incredibly friendly staff and customize a program that suits your own specific skill set and needs.
But more than likely, if you’re like the rest of us, you just want to safely drive real fast and that my friend is priceless!
