It's what we have been waiting for all year and it's official, Arizona Snowbowl is open for the season! (One of the added benefits of living in the sunny Southwest is the close proximity of winter outdoor sports without having to “live” in the snow. )
So, make it a short day at the office and be on the slopes near Flagstaff by late afternoon for the sheer exhilaration of some downhill fun! Whether that’s on two skis or one board, if you are packed and ready to hit the road, you’ll be standing in that the chair lift line in just over 2 hours!
A new owner took the reins this summer and with skiing his first priority and a commitment to get the winter season started early, he did just that! In a public announcement made in late October, Colorado’s Purgatory at Durango Mountain Resort and Arizona Snowbowl announced they have entered into an agreement to sell 100% of their ski areas to James Coleman, a managing partner with Pajarito Mountain Ski Area of New Mexico. This forms the largest mountain collective in the Southwest with over 26 lifts, and over 200 trails, making it the best in the region.
So, whether you are a local heading up for a day on the slopes, or your plans are for a ski destination, we have it right here in Arizona. Grab your skis and snowboards and head to Snowbowl for the first powder of the season. See you on the slopes!
