It happens a lot here in Arizona, people come to visit and they stay! It’s not only the endless blue skies and perfect weather that persuade people to stay but the friendliness that abounds in the communities. Erma Bombeck, a notable syndicate journalist and columnist, came to Phoenix in 1969 for a speaking engagement and made Paradise Valley her home for eleven years.
As many do, she became involved in her local community and charity events and was honored for her many endeavors to the non-profits. The Maricopa County’s March of Dimes and the Arizona Kidney Foundation were among her favorites and she was publicly recognized many times over for her generous support.
But the lion’s share of her charity work was with the National Kidney Foundation and today the Erma Bombeck Project
has a new look and a new launch with 7 major events scheduled in 2016, with two remaining for Fall 2016.
You are invited to continue the legacy of Erma Bombeck and her fight against kidney disease, hosted by the Arizona Women’s Board at the 37th Annual Authors Luncheon at the Arizona Biltmore Resort. The date is November 5th and tickets are on sale for $175 with the proceeds funding local kidney patients.
In December you will want to participate in The NKF Golf Classic in Phoenix, part of The Road to Pebble Beach, a nationwide scramble series with the top five teams advancing to the NKF Golf Championship at Pebble Beach Golf Links in California.
So the next time your out-of-town guests say they just love Arizona and would love to live here, remember The Matheson Team! They are happy to meet with your friends and show them the surrounding communities and some beautiful homes to live in.
