Family and friends will soon start arriving home for the Holidays and it will be a blur of activities, good food and fun times! If you are looking for a wholesome activity for all ages, you’ll definitely want to head out to ZooLights.
It takes the crew at the zoo approximately 14 weeks to get everything installed and hung and they’ve flipped the switch and millions of lights are now on!
Visitors will enjoy moments of aw and wonder with the music-in-motion on the lake and the 3-story tall Holiday tree. Most of the zoo animals have retired for the evening so these areas are roped off but the little ones can enjoy the Stingray Bay and camel rides and they will have a blast around the larger-than-life Lego animals and plants.
Everyone will enjoy the special treats to be discovered as you meander the paths of the Phoenix Zoo, PolarSlide™, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer 4-D Experience ®, carousel rides and if you get there early enough, the nightly snowfall experience.
Some pointers to make this a great experience:
- Eat dinner before heading into the zoo, although there are yummy snacks, hot cocoa and adult beverage at kiosks throughout the park.
- Purchase and print your tickets before arriving to avoid long wait times and lines.
- Bring a jacket for everyone and a stroller for the tiny tots.
- Charge your phone battery so you can use its flashlight on some of the darker spots along the trail.
The lights shine bright every evening through January 8th from 5:30 to 10:30 p.m. and admission is $19.95 with 2-years of age and under free.
This is the 25th year of ZooLights and once you go, you’ll undoubtedly want to make this an annual family tradition!
