The Hollywood Costume Exhibit at the Phoenix Art Museum is a must-see for Scottsdale residents. In addition to the costumes brought in from many favorite Hollywood productions, the exhibit has a variety of other multimedia supplements including film clips, interviews and props.
The exhibit is on tour from the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, so buy tickets while you still can. According to the Phoenix Art Museum’s website, the exhibit closes on July 6th, at which point the costumes will be returned to their respective studio vaults.
If you’re interested in purchasing a home close to Scottsdale and Phoenix cultural amenities such as the Phoenix Art Museum, contact a Scottsdale Real Estate expert on the Matheson Team today.
The costume exhibit is special because many of the costumes on display have never been seen in real life by the public – only on the big screen.
Many individual pieces have neither been released for public display nor transported from private collections, so seeing everything on display in one place is truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
Some of the pieces displayed in the exhibit include costumes from the following movies:
- The Seven Year Itch (Marilyn Monroe’s dress)
- The Adams Family (Morticia’s dress)
- Star Wars (Darth Vader)
- The Wizard of Oz – you’ll get to see Dorothy’s ruby slippers!
- Superman
- Titanic
- Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince
- Dark Knight Rises
- Kill Bill
- Gangs of New York
- The Big Lebowski
Tickets for the event are $20 for adults and $10 for children ages 6-16 (children under 6 are admitted without charge).
