  • 10/13/16
The Scottsdale Philharmonic is a professional symphony orchestra with the vision to enhance the cultural environment of the City of Scottsdale. The four concert series kicked off the 2016-2017 season this month and will continue through March, 2017 with free concerts for the community.

The next concert on November 20th highlights the creative masterpieces of Copland’s Outdoor Overture; Beethoven’s Symphony 7; Korsakov’s Russian Easter; and, Chabrier’s Espana Rhapsody for Orchestra.

The philharmonic takes a break over the holidays and returns on February 12, 2017 featuring Wagner, Mozart and Respeghi. The final concert of the series takes place on March 26, 2017 and features a special guest appearance by pianist, Walter Cosand with the concert playlist to include Brahm’s Tragic Overture; Schumann’s Piano Concerto a minor; and, Mozart’s Symphony 25 G K 183.

The philharmonic is always looking for volunteers and professional musicians and counts on VIP seating as a major source of funds for its operation. Their primary funding comes from the Community Event Funding program but the $15 VIP preferred seating gets you the best seats in the house and supporters will be treated to their very own private entrance with special VIP treatment.

This season’s free classical concerts are located at 7601 East Shea Boulevard in Central Scottsdale with a start time of 4:00 p.m. and finishing by 6:00 p.m. just in time for a lovely dinner out.
