6 Big Shows Coming to the Valley in 2016

  • 12/23/15
One of the perks of living in Scottsdale is that you are less than 45 minutes from four entertainment venues, including Talking Stick Resort Arena and Arizona State University’s Gammage Auditorium, that attract national acts and tours.

There’s no way to list all of the great acts coming to the Valley in 2016 right here, but here’s a sampling of the hottest tickets through the end of May:

Disney On Ice presents Frozen: The new classic Disney movie about two sisters—one with the power to turn things into ice and the other with a boundless sense of adventure—comes to Talking Stick Resort Arena (formerly the US Airways Center) in this ice skating adaptation January 13-18. Perfect for the whole family! Tickets start at $20 and are required for everyone over the age of 2.

Dancing with the Stars: Live!: Fans of the reality show won’t want to miss the tour, especially since it comes to the Valley this year on Valentine’s Day. Catch one of two performances—4 p.m. and 8 p.m.—at Comerica Theatre featuring the show’s dancers, including Sharna Burgess, Valentin Chmerkovskiy, Peta Murgatroyd, and special guest star Alek Skarlatos (line-up subject to change). Tickets range from $28-$63.

Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band: The River Tour: The Boss returns to the Valley on Friday, March 10, for one show at Talking Stick Resort Arena. In addition to his most popular songs—such as “Born in the U.S.A.” and “Dancing in the Dark”—the show will include an in-sequence, complete performance of “The River,” his latest album. Tickets go on sale December 11.

Justin Bieber: Purpose World Tour: Like it or not, Justin Bieber is still one of the hottest tickets around. In fact, tickets are almost sold out already for his concert on Wednesday, March 30, at 7:30 p.m. at Gila River Arena. The tour promotes his latest album, “Purpose.” Tickets start at $50.50 and go up to $116.

Carrie Underwood: The Storyteller Tour: This seven-time Grammy winner takes the stage on Thursday, April 14, at 7 p.m. at Talking Stick Resort Arena to perform songs from her latest album, “Storyteller.” Expect to hear new releases from the album, including “Smoke Break,” as well as fan favorites, including “Before He Cheats” and “Jesus, Take the Wheel.” Tickets start at $41.25.

The Book of Mormon: The wildly popular—and, at times, irreverent—musical from the creators of “South Park” tells the story of two missionaries from Salt Lake City sent to preach in war-torn Uganda. Due to its popular first run, the touring show is returning to Arizona State University’s Gammage Auditorium from May 18-28. Tickets start at $30 for balcony seats and range up to $140 for prime orchestra seats. Don’t wait to buy. It’s sure to sell out again!

We are fortunate to live in a major metro area where plenty of big acts make a stop on their tours. Don't miss out on the fun, and join us in the Valley of the Sun today!
