Arizona Bike Week roars into Scottsdale next week for five full days of non-stop action. Custom choppers, crotch rockets, classic Harley’s, motocross bikes, you name it, you’ll see it or be on it!
While there are dozens of biker rallies to attend across the US, there are 3 things that set Arizona Bike Week apart from the others:
1. The large number of corporate bikers turned Hells Angels for 5 days out of the year. If you know how to tie a biker bandana or do rag and you forgo shaving a week out, when you belly up to the bar no one will know your dirty little secret that you’re actually a clean cut executive the other 360 days of the year.
2. It’s not so much of a bike rally as one big party. The music venue alone is impressive—there’s no Dirty Harry, Born to Be Wild song blaring in the big white tent. It seems that Scottsdale is a little too sophisticated for that. But there sure is some heavy-hitting music talent slated for the week with the following lineup:
Social Distortion is kicking off Bike week on Wednesday, March 25th with their hits, ♫ Ball and Chain, ♫ Story of My Life, ♫ Ring of Fire, ♫ Reach for the Sky, ♫ I Was Wrong, and ♫ Far Behind.
Randy Houser just surpassed the 3 million in singles sales with his ♫ How Country Feels hit. He takes the stage Thursday evening March 26th.
Friday, evening March 27th Ted Nugent takes the stage. Ted Nugent?! Enuf said!
Stone Temple Pilots will take the stage on Saturday, March 28th. Singer Chester Bennington recently shared that “the band is trying to bring some attitude back, some sexiness and piss and vinegar”. The Grammy Award-winning American rock band will rock your world with their hits ♫ Plush, ♫ Interstate Love Song, ♫ Creep, ♫ Vasoline, ♫ Sex Type Thing, and maybe something from their Arizona acoustic set.
3. The location. Scottsdale is the ideal location for perfect winter riding weather. A lot of national and international visitors attend throughout the week and there are some incredible scenic rides with differing terrain, from Sedona to The Grand Canyon down to the beaches of Mexico.
Other activities include a FMX Freestyle Motocross Extreme Stunt Shows, Harley Davidson of Scottsdale Drill Team, Factory Demo Rides, Miss Arizona Bike Week Pageant, and much more. You can even show your ink, and be entered to win the tattoo contest.
Arizona Bike Week is more geared toward the casual motorcyclist, and while this might not be the ideal outing for the small kiddos, you can go knowing it’s fun, it’s clean, and it’s safe! Events take place at WestWorld in Scottsdale from March 25th through March 28; with the pre-rally events all across the Valley on March 24th.
