Learn how to properly identify and report significant weather phenomena to the National Weather Service. Even with sophisticated technology like radar and satellites, the service still needs information from trained, on-the-ground weather spotters. This free class is from 6:30 to 8:30 pm Tuesday, April 17, at Scottsdale Police & Fire Headquarters, 8401 E Indian School Rd. Participants will learn how thunderstorms work; to identify cloud features associated with microbursts and tornadoes; and to visually estimate wind speeds.
