History

Desert Mountain was established in 1986. Taliesin Associated Architects, founded by Frank Lloyd Wright, created the original Desert Mountain master plan. Community guidelines and environmentally sensitive architecture ensure that homes in this community respect the land and complement the natural desert surroundings.

Desert Mountain has a nine-court tennis complex with your choice of hard clay or grass surfaces, six pickleball courts, luxurious pools, a state-of-the-art exercise and spa facility, and a new Performance Center. The Performance Center is an indoor/outdoor, climate-controlled state-of-the-art teaching and practice facility with 3 golf pros on staff. Residents also enjoy hiking, horseback riding, and camping.

Desert Mountain is part of the Cave Creek Unified School District. Students attend Black Mountain Elementary School, Sonoran Trails Middle School, and Cactus Shadows High School.
